9 Year Old Boy Threatened With Sexual Harassment Charges For Telling Girl, 'I Like You'
A nine-year-old boy was threatened with a sexual harassment charge for telling a girl in his class her "eyes were like diamonds". The young admirer had passed the object of his affections in a note, telling her she was "pretty and cute", but the school he is enrolled in read an entirely different meaning into it.
"I like you," the fourth grader from Tampa, Florida wrote inside a heart drawing.
"I like your hair because it is not sloppy. I like your eyes because they sparkle like diamonds."
But instead of winning the girl round, the note landed him in the head teacher's office where the school officials threatened they would ensure he was slapped with sexual harassment charges, Mirror tells us.
They said his pining was inappropriate and accused him of writing several "unwanted" letters.
Other students also teased the young writer, saying he wanted to see the girl naked.
The boy's mother slammed the school for its treatment of her son, saying his intentions had been entirely innocent.
"He's nine," said the boy's mother, who wasn't identified, told ABC Action News ,"What little kid doesn't write love notes?
"My nine-year-old doesn't even know what sexual harassment is."
Seriously?!? I think they are going to damage him psychologically because when he is older, he might be afraid of expressing himself to the opposite sex.
"I like you because your eyes sparkle like diamonds..." Awwww, how sweet and poetic.
