Nwanga Chidiebere, a 16-year-old JSS 3 student of Presco Secondary School, Abakaliki, is battling to stay alive at Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki (FETHA), Ebonyi State after being attacked with hot water by his boss, a female doctor at FETHA, Mrs Jane-Glad Ugba.
Chidiebere said he was wrongly accused of leaving the door open whereas it was his boss' eldest son that did. While being punished for the first offense, Jane accused him again of allowing the yam he was asked to cook to get burnt.
She then emptied the yam and hot water on his back and chased him out of the house. He slept in a church overnight and in the morning, while roaming the street, a female member of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) accosted him and took him to the hospital. .
