Did you know that men who sleep naked and wear loose underpants have better quality sperm? Yes, it’s true and a group of American researchers can confirm it!
Scientists from Stanford University in California and the US National Institute of Child Health and Human Development carried out tests on 500 men over the course of a year and the results were astonishing.
The men who wore loose underpants in day time and birthday suit in bed had a 25% lower level of damaged sperm than those who wore tight shorts. And the scientists believe that heat is the reason for the effect.
Tight boxers increase the temperature of the testicles, which can cause the quality of a man’s sperm to decrease and thus harm the chances of conceiving a baby. It is the same reason that men are also advised not leave their laptops on laps for extended periods of time because of the heat radiation from the machine,
Lead researcher Katherine Sapra commented on the study saying:
“Among men in the general population attempting pregnancy, type of underwear worn during the day and to bed is associated with semen quality. Reducing exposure for bed decreases DNA fragmentation; better semen quality parameters are observed in men wearing boxers during the day and none to bed.”
