Battle of Wits: Blog Readers Chioma Confronts Michael Over Paris Bombing (Photos)

Mark Zuckerberg created and released a Facebook app that allows Facebook users to merge their profile photos with the french flag in solidarity with the people of France for the tragic terrorist attack that wasted over 100 lives.

 .
Most Nigerians keyed in while some other felt that this was yet another proof that black (Nigerian) lives which Boko Haram and Al Shabab has been wasting for years do not matter. This certinly breed and watered the grounds for disagreements and accusations of tremendous proportions.

On to days battle of wits, Hot blog reader Chioma confronts Micheal

CHIOMA FUMES:
.

Do you know that there was an ISIS attack that claimed lives in Lebanon yesterday?
Do you also know that there was an attack in Niger State of Nigeria by Boko Haram with abt 40 casaulties?
No one heard abt it cos Mark Zucherberg did not command you all to change your profile pictures to reflect the color of the French or Lebanese or Nigerin flags...hlwsssow shallow can humam copy cats be?
Having a mind of your own is the most intelligent thing in a reasonable human being.
Now, I will expect the "new French flag profile bearers" to attack my opinion (or even me). Only I wish I could care...
Inferiority complex is another form of mental slavery,

Micheal Responds:

I am a Nigerian. I am also a world citizen. I live in this world and that makes me a world citizen. I share ties with other citizens of the world.
A Facebook app was created for people who wish to change their profile pic to have a French flag cast in order to show solidarity for the innocent people murdered in the Paris terrorist attacks and some Nigerians are whining.
For me, I am interested in what happens in Nigeria as much as I am in the world at large. I can change my nationality tomorrow, I can leave Nigeria and not return back. Yes. But I will remain on earth. Nigeria is my place of birth, and ancestry but it is also just one of the 210 countries to live in.
So for me my interest in humanity does not end at our country's borders.
Since the madness of Boko haram started there has been global outcry and condemnation of the madness. ‪#‎BringBackOurGirls‬ was created and used by billions of people around the world to galvanize global support. Coalition force of many nations came here. Malala, the Pakistani 18-year old Nobel laureate, gave Nigeria $300,000 as a token of support. There were solidarity protests in the middle east, Asia, and America over the kidnap of the Chibok girls. Nigeria got the attention of the world.
Ordinary change of profile picture to mourn the tragic death of the victims of terrorist attacks in Paris, some Nigerians are complaining. Honestly, I live in a country every act must be viewed through the lens of ethnicism, religion, politics, and nationalism. Our level of cynicism in this country is epic!

Guys, They have laid their opinions bare
Who do you go with?
